I first met Charlotte and Varun when I was contacted by Varun to discreetly photograph his proposal to Charlotte in Cologne. After that, they asked me to photograph their wedding at Cooling Castle Barn in Kent. It was an awesome adventure which I’ll never forget. Not only did it allow me to get back to the UK where I spent five years living and studying, but it allowed me to get my hands on some proper fish and chips.
This was a wedding of a few firsts for me. Charlotte’s Pronovias dress was pretty awesome and practical. I didn’t even notice that they had built in pockets, which was really practical for putting small items in. Also, Varun told me he planned to surprise Charlotte during the solemnisation by bringing out a chair to stand on for the kiss, which worked out really well. Everyone was cheering as the best man brought out the chair (Check out the pics below). For the group photo, a “Jurassic Park Dinosaur” picture was the request. After that, it was a dinner and dance.
The decoration was unique. This was the first time I saw lace umbrellas used in the bridal decoration and to great effect. A quick costume change for Charlotte into the Sari, and the bridal guest partied late into the night with a mix of Indian and English hits.
